National Volunteer Week – Sugam

#NationalVolunteerWeek

“I love volunteering at Elim Village as it is not only a great way to contribute to my community, but it also provides me with the opportunity to cultivate long lasting bonds, and memories I will forever cherish. Whether I am  helping with manicures, participating in bingo nights, providing an escort for an outdoor walk, or simply having a conversation, I get the utmost happiness when I see the joy on the residents’ faces as I come in to volunteer twice a week. ”

Sugam has been volunteering with us since October 2017 and spent over 160 hours at Elim Village! There are many ways volunteers can help with at Elim Village and Sugam is always willing to rise up to the challenge. There is no task too easy or little, as they all make an impact in the lives of our residents. Oftentimes, you can find her in The Emerald interacting with residents, facilitating Bingo nights on Wednesday evenings and spending Saturday mornings with residents performing manicures. A volunteer needs to be adaptable, kind and possess a willingness to serve others. Sugam’s got the #VolunteerFactor, she portrays all these values and that’s why she’s a great addition to the volunteer team.

Thank you for the impact you’ve had on our residents, the meaningful connections you’ve developed and the positive influence you’ve had on our community. You’ve made a world of a difference!
