Bell Let’s Talk Day

In September 2010, Bell initiated an open discussion on mental health in Canada realizing not many people were shedding light on this issue. The response led to many new ideas and hope to those who may live with these illnesses. This has resulted in many institutions and organizations coming together to support access to care and research.

Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day. Back in October 2018, Margaret Trudeau was a keynote speaker at our Annual Health and Wellness Fair held at our Fleetwood campus. She shared intimate details of her journey, struggle, and in the end, triumph, with mental health. Her story resonated with many of our residents, who may not always recognize the signs or impact mental health issues.

More often than not, mental health isn’t visible and no matter what the age, it may occur in every stage in life. We never know when someone may be going through emotional turmoil. Be kind and support one another. Let’s do our part in contributing to the conversation! On Bell Let’s Talk Day, with every applicable interaction on text, call, tweet, social media video view and use of their Facebook frame or Snapchat filter, Bell will donate 5 cents towards mental health initiatives in Canada.
