Elim Village operates two exceptional aging in place communities for older adults. Our retirement villages are located in Surrey and Chilliwack, B.C., where over 1,000 seniors call Elim Village ‘home’. Job Summary
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is integral to the creation and execution of all Elim marketing materials. While the role primarily focuses on internal communications, it also includes support for external messaging. This position plays a key part in maintaining brand consistency and strengthening Elim Village’s reputation as a trusted provider of aging in place housing. The coordinator works within the broader marketing team, contributing to efforts that engage prospective clients and provide essential information about Elim Village.
Qualifications
• Post-secondary degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in marketing communications or a similar role.
• A strong portfolio showcasing writing samples and graphic design work.
• Excellent command of the English language, with a focus on grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Proven experience managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and executing paid social media campaigns.
• Proficiency with Google Analytics and Google Ads for data analysis and campaign optimization.
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe InDesign.
• Experience using CRM software is an asset.
• Basic photography skills and the ability to capture high-quality images for marketing materials.
Key Responsibilities
• Create external and internal marketing communications materials that align with brand guidelines.
• Write, edit, and proofread multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring consistent quality and tone.
• Design graphic layouts for print and digital publications, maintaining a cohesive visual identity.
• Manage and maintain Elim’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) to ensure consistent engagement.
• Develop and produce digital and print advertising materials that support marketing objectives.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute communication plans as directed.
• Oversee the upkeep and content management of the Elim Village website.
• Conduct research as needed for marketing materials, including industry trends and competitive insights.
• Assist in promoting and reinforcing Elim’s brand identity across all levels of the organization.
• Work closely with internal teams, leadership, and external vendors to produce high-quality marketing collateral.
• Provide marketing communications support to internal departments as required.
• Coordinate photo shoots and gather visual assets for use on the website and in promotional materials.
• Track and report on the performance metrics of various marketing and communication initiatives.
• Ensure timely delivery of all marketing materials and adherence to project timelines.
• Design and produce branded promotional products in collaboration with departments as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall marketing and communications goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Creative with a strong sense of design and layout, adept at developing visually engaging content.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, InDesign and website management systems.
• Experienced in SEO strategies and social media management, with a proven ability to drive engagement.
• Skilled in storytelling, with the ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences.
• Capable of consistently delivering high-quality work within deadlines and under pressure.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Highly organized with exceptional time management skills, able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently and taking initiative without direct supervision.
• Skilled at representing the brand with professionalism, embodying the values and image of Elim Village as a knowledgeable ambassador.
• Experience working with seniors and a genuine passion for supporting their needs and interests.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a resourceful approach to overcoming challenges.
Notes
• This position will require working at Fleetwood (Surrey) and Garrison Crossing (Chilliwack) campuses based on events and activities
• May sometimes require working outside normal working hours in order to fulfil the duties associated with events
• Wage: $31.16 – $35.26
