National Volunteer Week – Laura

We’re celebrating our volunteers during National Volunteer Week by acknowledging some of our volunteers for the impact they have made on our thriving community! Since February 2018, Laura and has volunteered more than 50 hours of her time with us. Every Monday, Laura spends time with a knitting group in our Assisted Living building, The Emerald and has since learned how to knit! Afterwards, she makes her way to the Residential Care buildings, The Harrison and Harrison West to work one-on-one with residents performing manicures. “I look forward each week to my volunteer time at Elim Village because I get to spend time having meaningful conversations with amazing residents and staff! It really feels like a community here and I feel so blessed to be able to  be a part of if it!”

Laura truly embodies the volunteerism spirit. On top of managing a hectic school schedule, Laura is very active in her community and volunteers with many other organizations such as, Nightshift Ministries, Calvary Church, Pacific Academy School and has gone on 3 missions trips to Mexico and Cambodia!

Thank you for all you do; we are grateful to have you here at Elim and hope you inspire other young adults to give back to their communities.
