Lynnelle Friesen, Site Manager, is excited about The Hawthorn, saying, “What makes Elim’s Hawthorn building so unique is the choices we offer here—so you can retire your way, everyday!” The soon to be available Hawthorn (it opens in June 2022) offers 93 suites of varying sizes to suit individuals or couples. Each unfurnished suite has a full-size kitchen and comes with a half hour of housekeeping each week. And choosing your beautiful suite is only the beginning—a full range of services are at your fingertips, and this stands out as unique in senior living residences.

Hungry now? Maybe later? You choose

For most of us, food is more than just fuel—we socialize round the table, we celebrate, and there are days when we want fancy and days when we don’t.

At The Hawthorn, you can eat when and what you want and either cook or not cook. Two meals per day are included with rent, and dining options range from:

• The Chehalis Café & Lounge—grab a latté and a muffin in the morning, a charcuterie board and cocktail with friends before dinner, or a tasty dessert after a lovely meal
• The Alpine Bistro—enjoy casual dining with a wide range of menu options and an interactive Chef’s Station
• The Summit Dining Room—relax over fine dining with full table service, elegant china, and a menu of delectable delights

You can also cook in your own suite if you prefer a night in, or hire a Home Helper to assist you with cooking.

Fill your time the way you choose—and there is lots to choose from!

One of the best things about retirement is enjoying your time as you wish. The location of our Garrison Crossing campus is ideal: stroll into the nearby Garrison Crossing Village in a matter of minutes, attend a class at the nearby Cheam Leisure Centre, or enjoy a bike ride on the Vedder River Trail.

Of course, relaxation may also be on your mind. At The Hawthorn, you can visit the full-service Clearwater Spa located on the ground floor, which is home to a hair salon, aesthetics studio, a hydrotherapy tub, and a range of therapeutic services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or massage therapy—what could be nicer? Also onsite, the Selkirk Chapel hosts a variety of activities such as Sunday worship services, fitness classes, education sessions, and more.

Age in Place with your loved one

Loving where you live is important—but not as important as being with those you love. As we age, differing care needs can become a reality, which is where Elim’s Aging in Place philosophy counts. Elim’s approach allows couples to stay together as they age, and the vision for Garrison Crossing is to ensure that residents are supported and connected appropriately to ensure an exceptional aging in place experience.
